Contaminant Managment in the Karst Region

Steele, Dodge, Olmsted and Winona Counties, Minnesota

The Department of Geology and Geophysics and the Minnesota Geological Survey- University of Minnesota, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and the Minnesota Department of Health, recently completed a project designed to assist agencies and local governments manage contaminant sources in a karst terrain. Products included geologic mapping, the development and implementation of a karst features database and expanded karst features inventory, and materials for education and outreach.
